Deer Hunting

212 lb. 7 pt. buckWhispering Wings Guide Service offers guided or semi-guided deer hunts with a rifle, muzzleloader or bow. Most of the deer harvested are taken from tree stands or ground blinds between feeding and bedding areas and near natural funnels. Planted food plots also provide terrific opportunities for large deer. A one-on-one still hunt or a day's walk with your GPS are all producers of deer. Weather plays a big part in deer movement and can make or break your week. On a good week's hunt, you will have your pick of average deer and if you're patient, a trophy of a lifetime.

If you harvest a deer early in your hunt, there are plenty of opportunities for bird and waterfowl hunting. Any-deer lottery permit recipients generally have high success rates (it's a great opportunity for a young sportsman's first deer). Applications for antlerless deer lottery permits may be obtained by visiting the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife web site or you can call me for application information.  Whispering Wings is located in Zone 23.  Zone 23 offers the most doe permits annually and has the highest Deer Harvest in the State of Maine.
