October is the time for the annual migration of Woodcock from Canada. This, in addition to local birds and a healthy population of Ruffed Grouse, will make for a memorable hunt. There is nothing like the thrill of a dog on point on a crisp fall morning. There also is nothing more challenging for a wing shooter than a flushing Woodcock or Grouse thundering through the dense cover.
Whispering Wings Guide Service has fine English Pointers, but we encourage hunters to bring their own dogs.
It's not uncommon to have up to 30 flushes a day, which makes memorable gunning for you and your dog. Upland Bird Hunting begins October 1st and runs to December 31st, annually.
